"Yoga in the Park: A celebration of community, wellness and remembrance.
The sun rose bright and early on the morning of Saturday, June 21, as Franklin’s community came and gathered at Harlinsdale Park to celebrate International Day of Yoga.
Participants of all ages and skill levels, and even some furry friends, unrolled their mats as they were guided by experienced instructors who led a series of rejuvenating mixed yoga sampler classes.
The atmosphere was filled with positivity, mindfulness and relaxation as yogis glided through poses, a guided meditation and sound bath. The event not only celebrated the physical and mental benefits of yoga, but also exemplified the community of Franklin. Yogis spent their time connecting with one another and supporting local wellness vendors during the community hour of the event, raising funds for Ellie G’s Dream World. As Tennessee’s first ever inclusive playground, Ellie G’s Dream World is designed for those of all abilities, named in memory of Elliot Grace Castro.
Yoga in the Park also offered a children’s story time yoga session and a lively kids zone, providing fun and relaxation for the whole family. As the morning came to a close, attendees left with a new sense of connection and mindfulness." -Williamson Herald
